Mariano Fortuny (painter) - Mariano José María Bernardo Fortuny y Carbó (June 5, 1838 - November 21, 1874), Spanish painter, was born at Reus.

Claudio Coello - Claudio Coello (1642—1693) was a Spanish Baroque painter. Influenced by many other artists, including Diego Velázquez who was also of Portuguese descent, Coello is considered the last great Spanish painter of the 17th century.

Federico García Lorca - Federico García Lorca (June 5, 1898 – August 19, 1936) was a Spanish poet and dramatist, also remembered as a painter, pianist, and composer. An emblematic member of the Generation of '27, he was murdered by Nationalist partisans at the age of 38 at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.

John Phillip - John Phillip (1817-1867) was a Victorian era painter best known for his portrayals of Spanish life. He was nicknamed "Spanish Phillip".
